“On November 16th, 2005, the ELI at CMU went to Remus Elementary
School. The school trip was very successful. Every international student in
the ELI had a good time and had many valuable experiences . . . elementary
education in the U.S is very different from my homeland, Taiwan . . . In my
knowledge, this trip enhanced my personal experience in the U.S. . . The
elementary school trip is a good way to let both international students and
American students understand different cultures . . .”—Tsan-chuan (Greg), Taiwan

“My favorite part was International Stations. We made origami with
children. I was interested in their personality. There was children who made a
origami seriously or got tired immediately. Children were very obedient. I spent
a good time with each child. Also, I was surprised at their personality. When I
met my pen pal, she was very friendly. In Japan, when we meet a person for the
first time, we may become very shy. However, American elementary school students
were very friendly. They were so cute." - Mika, Japan
