Canoe Trip, September 2004.

Last Friday, I went on a canoe trip with ELI friends and teachers. Actually, that was my first experience that I ride a canoe. When we reached the river, it was so sunny. But it didn’t make me hot. My canoe partner was Steve who is my teacher in special topic class. Before one day I went on a canoe trip, we met at office and talked about canoe trip, then we promised that we ride a canoe together. Fist, when I rode the canoe, it was a little shake, but I could felt comfortable because of my partner’s help. The river was so peaceful and calm. I’ve never felt like that. That’s make me comfortable. The most good thing was that I could talk with my partner in English; difficult problems with my friends and how to make American friends and so on. That’s so useful for me. Although I my clothes were wet by class mates splashed water, that’s not bad. I also felt happy that I met new friends. If I can go on a canoe trip, I’ll certainly anticipate it.—Julie

 

It was very happy time to me because it is first time canoeing experience. So I was very excited and expectant. Canoeing was close to nature, clean water, waves, trees, fishes, rocks, and the sky. I feel like an ancient natural person.—Young Geun

 

 

 

Canoeing Trip
I went to canoeing trip on Friday, September 24th. The weather is good. Sky looks like blue paper. We went to canoeing place. Some people who are not good swimmer wore life-guide-jacket, and we moved to other place that is start point canoeing trip. Canoeing trip is so exciting. My partner is Katsu. He is good driver controlling canoe, and we have great time that splashing another people and enjoying the view. I and my partner wetted all. And we saw fishes, turtles, small houses and two horses. Because I lived in Seoul that is urban, I have never seen the great view. I was so happy and exciting. Katsu droved canoe alone and I just see the view. Katsu is so kind. I like the canoeing trip. –Ellen

 

The canoe trip was so great. The weather was also great. It was my first canoe trip. I didn’t even know how to handle a canoe at first; however, it was not that difficult. Two people are a team; therefore, there was a lot of time to talk and get to know each other. In addition, the view from the canoe was very fine.–Min Hwan 

 

Canoe Trip
We went to canoeing on September 24th after school with many ELI students. This is the first time to go out with them. Some of them had never been to canoeing, others had, but we were rally exited. After we got to the river, which is near CMU and small, each of us got in a canoe with partner, and went down the river. The seen of view was so beautiful, but one of the guy started attacking other people suddenly. Laughing changed to screaming. It was so fun but I would like to say to him, “Behave yourself” --Ayako

 

 

 

 

 

We went canoeing last Friday with ELI people. Most people had a partner who has different sex as their own. I had pair with Kristy. First, we couldn't go fast as our skill. Finally, we were caught up by other people who had followed us. We enjoyed playing game like water fighting and really beautiful sights during the canoeing. Sometimes, we had hard time; fortunately, I have really good canoeing skill we could live. –Sean

Great weather. Great people went on the canoe trip. People merged on time and they were excited. Especially me, it was my first time canoeing, so I think I was very excited. That was not the only reason. It was a day off from class; I can feel liberal time and be aware of and very thankful for nature. My partner was Sean. He didn't seem to have such an efficiency to work on canoe, but he was awesome. It was his second time to canoe, so he was very good at it, more than I expected. —Kristy
